ADVICE FROM OUR INSTRUCTORS BEFORE YOU ARRIVE IN WHITE PARADISE

Can you feel it in the air? No ? The cold is slowly coming in and the snow is starting to show (at Oxygene, some people have already put up the Christmas tree, yes, yes…)

You are only waiting for one thing: your next ski holiday. You only have one desire: to slide down the green, blue, red or even black slopes for the most daring! We understand you, we are the same.

At Oxygene, we want your holiday to be the best as it can be. So who better to give you advice than our superb instructors?
If you’re one of the lucky ones reading this article, take note of these tips; they are GOLDEN.

1) Preparing your body for a sports week

There’s no need to run to the first gym. A few small warm-up exercises integrated into your daily routine will do you a world of good. Firstly, leave the car in the garage as soon as possible and walk or take the stairs instead of the lift ! Good tip: apps like Wewards or Walk united turn your steps into money ????
Tip from Charles, a ski instructor in La Plagne: “Swimming is also a great way to get back into shape before you hit the slopes (If you have flippers, even better.)

2) Fill up on vitamins !

Your mouth is already watering when you think of the raclettes, fondues and specialities of our beautiful region… To make room for all these delicacies, don’t hesitate to treat yourself to (seasonal) fruit and vegetables to be in great shape before your holidays.

3) Warm clothes are your best friends

The worst thing is to realise that you’ve forgotten your gloves on Monday morning when your ski lesson starts… To make sure this doesn’t happen, you can take a look at our article on the essentials to pack.

4) Don’t forget: safety first !

If you have your own ski equipment: a quick check before your holiday is essential. “Clean it well (especially if it has been in the cellar with spiders since last year). We check that the plastic’s boots hasn’t melted and we think about waxing the skis at the beginning and end of the season.” Bea, instructor in Tignes.

If you go by car, inflate your tyres, check the oil levels and don’t forget your snowchains (or snow socks), it’s very important!

5) Vary the pleasures !

To be aware of all the events and not to miss anything, you can download the resort’s application. Or you can get information at the tourist office.
And if you’re in the mood for a thrill during your holiday, you can sign the whole family up for an electric mountain bike ride on snow in Val d’Isère or go ski touring at sunrise in La Plagne. To find out which activity is the best for you, visit our website: www.oxygene.ski

Last but not least, don’t forget that it’s your holidays and the most important is to enjoy what ever you do ! So relax, Oxygene’s instructors will make your stay unforgettable!
